Ryan Hynek is a Chicago native (or close enough to it) who has been yucking it up across the Asian comedy circuit since 2007. By day, he works full-time as a secondary school English teacher—proudly using his students as captive guinea pigs for his observational humor. By night, he squeezes his tall frame into Hong Kong’s notoriously tiny stage spots, performing everywhere from local clubs to hosting TEDx talks and high-end galas that require a rented tuxedo.
A multi-time finalist in the Hong Kong International Comedy Competition and voted Best Feature Comedian and Best Emcee by his peers, Ryan has opened for global comedy heavyweights whose PR teams are much better than his. You can catch him bobbing around Hong Kong’s comedy scene most weekends.
